In the bustling landscape of global culture, one nation stands out as a true trendsetter, weaving its rich heritage with cutting-edge innovation to captivate audiences worldwide. South Korea's ascent to cultural superpower status, known as the "Korean Wave" or Hallyu, is a testament to its resilience, creativity, and unwavering dedication to crafting a unique identity on the world stage. To celebrate the influence of Korean culture on the world, we built a custom photo booth for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts to commemorate the launch of their new exhibit: Hallyu! The Korean Wave (March 24-July 28, 2024). The Boston photo booth is a part of our no-cost placement program.

A century ago, Korea embarked on a journey to redefine itself, emerging from the shadows of occupation and war to embrace a future powered by technological prowess and artistic expression. Today, this journey culminates in a dazzling array of achievements, from the historic Oscars triumph of "Parasite" to the global phenomenon of K-pop sensations like BTS and BLACKPINK. At the heart of Hallyu lies a profound connection to tradition, where contemporary creators pay homage to the timeless values and art forms of Korea's dynastic past. In a remarkable fusion of old and new, the 'Hallyu! The Korean Wave exhibition offers a unique glimpse into this cultural phenomenon. It showcases a vibrant tapestry of artifacts, from iconic K-pop attire to exquisite needlework by acclaimed artists like Kyungah Ham.

To celebrate the launch of the exhibit, The Majestic Photobooth Co., made a custom photo booth wrapped in bright colors and a mix of English and Korean languages with Korean musical artists on the booth. The photo booth prints a card of 4 images that can be torn apart and given to different friends involved in the photo. This style of photo booth card is a popular print method in South Korean photo booths.

At the museum, take your photo and embark on a captivating journey through the new exhibit, where approximately 250  Hallyu! objects await your exploration. Delve into a treasure trove of costumes, props, photographs, videos, and contemporary works that showcase the dynamic essence of Korean culture. Highlights abound, from iconic K-pop idol attire spanning generations to exquisite couture dresses by acclaimed designers Park Sohee and Minju Kim. Marvel at a breathtaking large-scale needlework masterpiece by South Korean artist Kyungah Ham, crafted by skilled embroiderers from North Korea, and immerse yourself in pieces that delve into the rich tapestry of the Korean American experience by Timothy Hyunsoo Lee and Julia Kwon. Venture deeper into the exhibition to discover a curated selection of objects from the MFA's prestigious collection of Korean art, including the moon jar's timeless allure and the hanbok's elegance. Check out the exhibit and photo booth at 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115.
